Mogadishu – Somalia’s efforts in state-building received a financial boost from the European Union, according to the Minister of Information of the Federal Government of Somalia, HE Daud Aweis Jama.
According to a news release by the Somali National News Agency, the European Union has announced a Multi-annual Action Plan for Somalia totaling €89.5 million. Of this funding, €20 million has been specifically designated to provide essential budget support. This allocation aims to strengthen Somalia’s ongoing state-building activities.
The allocation of these funds is a pivotal development, likely to have a considerable impact on the capacity of the Somali government to implement reforms and development projects.
