Ethiopia’s Textile Industry Gaining International Attention, Invites Global Investors.

Addis Ababa: Ethiopian Investment Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen underscored that Ethiopia’s vast potential for companies in the textiles and garments industry has been steadily growing. The commissioner highlighted the emerging opportunities for global investors in this sector, emphasizing the country’s strategic plans to expand and modernize its textile production capabilities.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Global Linen Textile Forum 2024 was held in Addis Ababa today, organized by the Ethiopian Investment Commission and key partners, drawing participants from 15 countries. This event served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss advancements and opportunities in the linen sector, reinforcing Ethiopia’s position as a burgeoning hub for textile manufacturing.

Co-hosted by Kingdom (Ethiopia) Linen PLC, Kingdom Holdings Limited, the China Bast and Leaf Fibres Textile Association, and The Alliance for European Flax-Linen and Hemp, the forum marked a major milestone for Africa’s linen sector. The co
llaboration among these key industry players highlights the potential for increased international partnerships and investments in Ethiopia’s textile industry, aiming to boost economic growth and innovation within the sector.
