Ethiopia’s Peacekeeping Valor in Korea Commemorated on 73rd Anniversary

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s longstanding commitment to global peace was highlighted during the 73rd anniversary of its participation in the Korean peacekeeping mission, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Taye Atskeselassie. The event celebrated the valor demonstrated by Ethiopia’s Kagnew Battalion in Korea.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, During his speech, Minister Taye emphasized the importance of honoring the Ethiopian veterans who participated in the mission and advocated for documenting their stories. He noted that Ethiopia’s involvement in the Korean War significantly strengthened the bilateral relations between Ethiopia and South Korea.

South Korea’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Jung Kang, remarked on the enduring impact of Ethiopia’s contributions, stating that the sacrifices made have fostered strong bilateral ties between the two nations. The commemorative event, organized by the Ethiopian Korean War Veterans Association, was attended by families of the veterans and other distinguished guests.
