Ethiopia’s National Dialogue Commission Set to Begin Agenda Selection in Dire Dawa

DIRE DAWA - Ethiopia's National Dialogue Commission has completed preparations to start the agenda selection process in regional states, including the Dire Dawa City Administration, as part of efforts to resolve conflicts and foster national consensus.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Commission successfully conducted a similar agenda selection process in Addis Ababa at the Adwa Memorial Hall, which was described as participatory and inclusive. The process allowed participants to freely express their views and issues for discussion, reflecting a commitment to transparent and democratic dialogue. Mulugeta emphasized that this phase served as a learning forum, highlighting the active participation of attendees in shaping the dialogue’s framework.

The agenda selection will soon extend to Dire Dawa and other regional states, with the exception of Amhara and Tigray. Preparations are underway, with coordinators and other officials gearing up to facilitate these discussions. Mulugeta called on all citizens to engage actively in this phase, which he described as crucial for conducting a comprehensive national dialogue aimed at building a democratic social system within the country.
