Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Discusses Economic Prospects with US Delegation


ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Finance Minister, Ahmed Shide, recently held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the United States, including US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Ambassador Molly Phee, the Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Ambassador Michael Hammer, and US Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, during the meeting, Minister Shide provided an overview of Ethiopia’s current economic situation, the future outlook, and the critical ongoing macroeconomic reforms aimed at fostering growth and creating job opportunities. The discussions between Minister Shide and the US delegation were described as constructive, focusing on collaborative efforts to support Ethiopia’s economic recovery and address humanitarian needs following recent conflicts. The discussions also touched on facilitating support through international financial institutions such as the IMF and World Bank.
