Ethiopian Red Cross Society Donates Medical Supplies to Conflict and Drought-Affected Regions

ADDIS ABABA — The Ethiopian Red Cross Society has donated essential medical supplies and equipment to areas in Ethiopia that have been severely affected by conflict and drought. The donation will be distributed to 32 health facilities across the Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, and Benishangul-Gumuz regions,

According to Ethiopian News Agency, acting Secretary General of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, Abera Dumasei, highlighted the ongoing humanitarian assistance provided by the association during a ceremony where health bureau heads and regional representatives received the supplies. Abera noted that the association had launched several development projects last year aimed at creating disaster-resilient communities in these regions, with funding of 14.5 million euros from the government of the United Kingdom.

The donation of medical supplies and equipment is a key component of the association’s broader effort to support health facilities in areas heavily impacted by both man-made and natural disasters.
