Ethiopian Political Parties Convene to Forge Common National Agendas

ADDIS ABABA — Ethiopian political parties are currently engaged in discussions focused on national agendas and shared political interests, marking a significant step in collaborative governance. This gathering includes top political figures and aims to set the groundwork for upcoming major policy debates.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Coordinator Office Head at the Democracy Building Center and holding the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, this series of discussions fulfills a commitment made by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. Ahmed had previously promised to engage with various political entities to ensure a broad-based approach to national issues. Desta Dinka, Chairperson of the Joint Council of Political Parties, alongside other leaders, is participating in these critical discussions, which are intended to identify key agendas that will be central to a forthcoming major discussion forum.
