ADDIS ABABA — The Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) and TV BRICS have entered into a memorandum of understanding today to enhance media collaboration and coverage, witnessed by various dignitaries including the Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, CEO of the Ethiopian News Agency, the MoU will significantly boost media operations between Ethiopia and the BRICS nations, offering a platform for news exchange in English, French, and Arabic. This agreement is seen as a strategic move to extend ENA’s influence and reach on the African continent and beyond, promoting a diversified media landscape.
Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, expressed optimism about the MoU’s potential to strengthen bilateral ties between Ethiopia and Russia through media collaboration. The partnership is expected to enhance the global distribution of news content and foster greater understanding among BRICS countries.
The collaboration marks a continuation of ENA’s efforts to forge partnerships across the BRICS network, including previous agreements with Russia’s Sputnik and China’s Xinhua news agencies. ENA’s role in the BRICS+ Media Presidium underscores its commitment to becoming a leading news source in Africa.
