Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission Begins Agenda-Setting in Sidam Region


Hawasa — The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission initiated its agenda gathering consultations today in Sidam region, aiming to collect and deliberate on key topics from local representatives for the upcoming national dialogue conference.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the forum in Hawasa city has drawn approximately 1,800 participants from various segments of society, including representatives from 45 districts, political parties, institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and prominent local figures. This diverse group will spend the next week discussing and identifying crucial agenda items that are essential for fostering sustainable peace and development throughout Ethiopia.



The outcomes of these discussions are expected to be forwarded to the Commission for further consideration at the next level of the national dialogue conference. This process marks a significant step in the Commission’s broader effort to engage communities across the country in shaping a collaborative future, having already conducted similar consultations in regions including Addis Ababa.
