Ethiopian Government to Strengthen Support for National Dialogue


Addis Ababa – Chief Government Whip Tesfaye Beljige has affirmed the federal government’s commitment to enhancing its support for the national dialogue process in Ethiopia. In an interview with ENA, Tesfaye outlined the government’s strategy to address the nation’s divisions and disagreements through inclusive dialogue.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission, established by the House of People’s Representatives in 2021, aims to facilitate discussions among various societal segments on fundamental national issues. The commission is focused on identifying the root causes of existing differences to forge national consensus. Tesfaye highlighted the government’s efforts to support the commission’s activities and urged Ethiopians to actively participate in the dialogue process. Despite challenges from elements attempting to undermine the commission’s objectives, Tesfaye emphasized the importance of moving forward with the dialogue to address common issues.
