Ethiopian and German Parliamentarians Discuss Strengthening Ties and Cooperation

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Ethiopian and German parliamentarians convened in Addis Ababa to discuss ways to enhance the ties between their respective countries. The meeting, involving Dima Negewo, Chairperson of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Standing Committee, and Stefan Keuter, head of the German Federal Parliament’s (Bundestag) Foreign Affairs Committee, focused on solidifying parliamentary connections and bilateral relations.



According to the Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopia is committed to ensuring peace and stability in the region, particularly through the Pretoria agreement and other initiatives.



Dima emphasized the need for German investment and support in key sectors such as agriculture, industry, mining, and energy, highlighting the mutual benefits of cooperation and support. The German delegation acknowledged Ethiopia’s pivotal role in Africa, hosting the African Union and managing the continent’s leading airline. The discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing shared regional interests.
