Ethiopian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Accredited to COMESA

ADDIS ABABA — Ethiopian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Rashid Mohammed, has been officially accredited as the Permanent Representative to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

According to Ethiopian News Agency, During the accreditation ceremony, COMESA Secretary-General Chileshe Kapwepwe urged Ethiopia to expedite the ratification of the COMESA Free Trade Area agreement, highlighting the organization’s role in promoting regional integration and economic cooperation among member states.

Ambassador Mohammed emphasized Ethiopia’s commitment to working collaboratively within COMESA to address regional challenges and enhance growth. Kapwepwe acknowledged Ethiopia’s progress towards ratification and outlined COMESA’s support for Ethiopia, including technical assistance and funding for various projects aimed at facilitating trade and improving border management.
