ADDIS ABABA: Ethiopian Airlines has announced the launch of a new daily flight route to Port Sudan today, marking its 62nd destination in Africa and further expanding its extensive network across the continent.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the new route aims to enhance connectivity between Ethiopia and Sudan, serving as a bridge for increased economic, social, and diplomatic exchanges. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew emphasized that the new service to Port Sudan will not only connect the Sudanese people with Ethiopia but also link them to the rest of the world. He highlighted the route’s potential to boost economic development in Port Sudan and foster stronger trade, tourism, and diplomatic ties.
The daily flights will offer seamless travel options for passengers moving between the two countries and facilitate connections for travelers from across the Ethiopian Airlines network to Port Sudan, a key Red Sea port city. The airline’s commitment to serving the African market and contributing t
o its economic growth is evident in its continuous network expansion.
The inaugural flight, ET350, is scheduled to depart from Addis Ababa at 11:00 and will arrive in Port Sudan at 12:15. The return flight, ET351, will depart from Port Sudan at 14:15 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 17:30. Both legs of the journey will be operated using the modern Boeing 737 Max aircraft, known for its reliability and passenger comfort.
