Ethiopian Airlines Begins Operations at New Angolan Airport

Luanda: Ethiopian Airlines has commenced its operations at Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto Airport (AIAAN) in Icolo e Bengo Province, transferring its flights from Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro International Airport. The airline becomes the sixth out of ten international carriers to start operating at Angola's newly inaugurated airport.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the inaugural Ethiopian Airlines flight arrived at AIAAN around 12:30 pm last Tuesday. The flight was conducted with an Airbus A350-900, carrying approximately 300 passengers. This marks a significant expansion for the Ethiopian national airline, which is headquartered in Addis Ababa and is a member of the Star Alliance.

Ethiopian Airlines, which has been operating in Angola since 1986, currently serves over 80 international destinations. Its operations at the new airport enhance Angola's air connectivity with regional and international markets. This move is seen as pivotal for the development of civil aviation, tourism, and international trade in the country.
