Ethiopia Launches New Tourism Development Initiatives to Boost Global Competitiveness


GORGORA, AMHARA – Under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopia has embarked on several tourism development projects designed to enhance the nation’s appeal as a global travel destination.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, these initiatives, including the newly inaugurated Gorgora Eco Resort developed through the ‘Dine for Nation’ initiative, are pivotal in advancing Ethiopia’s tourism sector. The Gorgora project, which opened on Saturday in the Amhara region, exemplifies the country’s efforts to leverage its natural and historical assets to boost tourism and improve competitiveness in the industry.



Ambassador Nasise highlighted the high-quality infrastructure of the Gorgora Eco Resort, noting its blend of natural beauty and modern amenities, which positions it as a premier destination for both domestic and international travelers. She extended an invitation to tourists worldwide to explore the unique attractions that Gorgora and other similar projects offer.



Foreign Affairs Minister, Taye Atske Selassie also praised the project, emphasizing its successful integration of historical, natural, and human elements, and acknowledged the contributions of everyone involved in bringing the vision to life.
