ADDIS ABABA — The Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker, in collaboration with Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change, launched the ‘Ethio-Pakistan Fraternity Under Green Legacy’ initiative at the University of Sialkot.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the initiative aims to deepen the fraternal ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan through joint environmental conservation efforts. This initiative is part of Ethiopia’s ambitious Green Legacy project, which has seen the planting of over 32.5 billion trees since its inception in 2019 by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

The launch included the planting of 200 indigenous plant species and a climate walk, attended by government officials, business leaders, academics, and members of civil society. This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of Ethiopia and Pakistan to addressing global environmental challenges, promoting sustainable development, and fostering mutual understanding between the two nations.
