ADDIS ABABA — Ethiopia is intensifying its legal and diplomatic efforts to secure access to the sea, stated Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Nebiyou Tedla at a press briefing today.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ambassador Nebiyou highlighted Ethiopia’s gratitude towards Turkey for facilitating recent bilateral talks with Somalia held in Ankara, expressing commitment to actively participate in the upcoming third round of discussions. These talks are part of Ethiopia’s broader strategy to negotiate peaceful and lawful sea access, crucial for its economic ambitions. The spokesperson also mentioned Ethiopia’s vigilance in monitoring developments in Lebanon to ensure the safety and security of the Ethiopian diaspora amidst regional instabilities.
