Ethiopia Evaluates BRICS Participation Strategy in Ministerial Committee Meeting


Addis Ababa – Ethiopia’s BRICS National Ministerial Coordinating Committee convened for its second meeting today to assess the nation’s engagement with the BRICS alliance and plan future actions.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the meeting, chaired by Ethiopia’s designated BRICS representative, Mamo Esmelealem Mihiretu, focused on evaluating the strategic benefits of Ethiopia’s active participation in BRICS. The committee discussed Ethiopia’s strategy for integration into the BRICS framework, emphasizing the potential for economic, social, and diplomatic enhancements. The review session included a detailed examination of the BRICS Group Memorandum of Understanding and Ethiopia’s supporting statement. The committee also highlighted the role of Ethiopia’s BRICS membership in advancing people-to-people relations, fostering economic and social cooperation, driving technological advancement, and strengthening bilateral ties.
