Ethiopia Enhances Investment Outreach in UAE to Boost Industrial and Free Trade Zone Engagements

DUBAI — The Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai and the Northern Emirates is intensifying efforts to attract investors from the United Arab Emirates to Ethiopia’s industrial parks and the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone, aiming to bolster economic ties and encourage foreign direct investment.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Consul General of Ethiopia in Dubai, a productive dialogue has been held with a delegation from the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), focusing on the potential investment opportunities available to UAE investors in Ethiopia. The discussions, led by IPDC’s Investment Promotion and Marketing Deputy CEO Zemen Junedin, also included insights from Corporate Resource Management Deputy CEO Alemayehu Seifu and Investment Sector Advisor Mahlet Shibabaw.



During the meetings, Deputy CEO Zemen Junedin provided a detailed presentation on the various investment, business, and logistic opportunities, including both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives. He highlighted the investor-friendly reforms and the implementation of a zero waiting time policy by the IPDC to facilitate and expedite investments.



Ambassador Kebede emphasized the proactive steps taken by the IPDC to globalize their investor attraction efforts, such as establishing dedicated desks on every continent and providing continuous, efficient services to investors. These efforts are seen as crucial to enhancing the flow of investments into Ethiopia.



The Ethiopian delegation also engaged with senior management of the Armada Group, a global investment firm based in Dubai, discussing opportunities for involvement in Ethiopia’s industrial parks, particularly within the real estate sector.
