Ethiopia Committed to Sudanese People Led, Owned Peace Process

ADDIS ABABA: Ethiopia strongly believes in a Sudanese people led and owned peace process to end the ongoing conflict in Sudan, Foreign Affairs State Minister Mesganu Arga said today.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the state minister conferred with Ambassador Elzein Ibrahim Hussein, the Ambassador designate of Sudan in Ethiopia. The two parties exchanged views on the current situation in Sudan. State Minister Mesganu expressed Ethiopia’s commitment to a peace process led and owned by the Sudanese people to resolve the ongoing conflict. He recalled Ethiopia’s and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s efforts to bring peace and stability to Sudan and reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to the peaceful resolution of the conflict.



The two sides also discussed the necessity of enhancing efforts to assist Sudanese people displaced by the conflict.
