Ethiopia and Pakistan Discuss Joint Initiatives for Human Resource Development

ADDIS ABABA — Ethiopia and Pakistan are exploring collaborative initiatives to develop productive human resources in both countries, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad. The discussions took place during a meeting between Jemal Beker, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, and Salik Hussain, Pakistan’s Minister of Overseas and Human Resource Development.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the meeting focused on joint skill development initiatives, including hands-on training and courses in modern technical and vocational education fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Computing, and Blockchain. These initiatives aim to equip the youth of both nations with the skills needed to thrive in these sectors.



Ambassador Jemal highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to producing skilled manpower as part of its Home Grown Economic Reforms Programme, which is designed to foster macroeconomic stability, attract private sector investment, and enhance domestic production. The program has contributed to a stable and sustainable economy in Ethiopia, particularly by boosting foreign direct investment, productivity, and job creation.



Minister Hussain shared Pakistan’s experiences in human resource development and emphasized his ministry’s efforts to collaborate with foreign countries to create jobs and develop skills among the youth. He assured the Ethiopian Ambassador of Pakistan’s full support for the collaborative initiatives discussed.
