Ethiopia Advances Renewable Energy with $600 Million Wind Farm Project with UAE Firm

Ethiopia – Ethiopia Electric Power (EEP), a state-owned utility in Ethiopia, has announced a collaboration with AMEA Power of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a wind farm project. The deal, valued at 600 million US dollars, marks a significant step in Ethiopia’s renewable energy sector.

According to Africa News Agency, Under the agreement, AMEA Power will construct a 300-megawatt (MW) wind farm in the Aysha district of Ethiopia’s eastern Somali region. This project is a part of Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts in renewable energy, with the country already generating over 350 MW from three different wind farms, as per data from EEP.
