Ethio-Greek Business Forum Held in Athens

Athens: An Ethio-Greek Business and Investment Forum was held in Athens, Greece. The Forum, which was organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Rome and the Ethiopian Honorary Consulate in the Hellenic Republic in collaboration with the Hellenic-African Chamber of Commerce, brought together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, other government institutions, and members of the Ethiopian and Greek business communities, along with private companies.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, in his opening remarks, Deputy Head of Mission of Ethiopia’s Embassy in Rome, Assefa Abiy, highlighted Ethiopia’s wide range of trade and investment opportunities. He described Ethiopia as one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies in recent years and encouraged Greek companies to explore investment and trade opportunities in the country.



Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Workaferaw Aklilu, emphasized the favorable conditions created by Ethiopia’s macroeconomic reforms for foreign investors and underscored the potential for strengthening trade and investment ties between Ethiopia and Greece.



Deputy Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Dagato Kumbe, delivered a presentation at the Forum, highlighting Ethiopia’s diverse investment opportunities, particularly in priority sectors, while outlining the legal framework, procedures, and incentives designed to facilitate and encourage foreign investment.



The Forum concluded with productive B2B discussions and preliminary agreements between Ethiopian and Greek companies, while promoting Ethiopia’s trade and investment potentials.
