Addis Ababa: The Prosperity Party (PP) and the Communist Party of China have reached an agreement to further deepen the partnership between Ethiopia and China through their ‘All-Weather Strategic Partnership,’ Head of Public and International Relations of PP, Dr. Bikila Hurisa confirmed. This agreement is set to ensure enduring cooperation between the two countries under all circumstances.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, a high-level delegation comprising senior leaders from the Prosperity Party conducted a successful visit to China recently. During this visit, the head emphasized the deep collaboration between the Prosperity Party and the Communist Party of China, which includes discussions aimed at reinforcing party-to-party ties, experience sharing, training sessions, and field visits.

The meetings highlighted the achievements and reforms Ethiopia has accomplished over the past six years, allowing for a detailed exchange on national progress and the results of these efforts. The Communist Party of Ch
ina expressed its support for Ethiopia’s national reforms, and discussions included potential areas for future collaboration.

Bikila noted that the Communist Party of China’s extensive experience in party diplomacy-having relationships with over 700 political parties worldwide-and its organizational capability to manage 99 million members provide valuable insights for Ethiopia. Similarly, he stated that the Prosperity Party’s organization of its 15 million members toward achieving national reform goals reflects a mutual commitment to development.

The delegation witnessed China’s development efforts firsthand, observing projects from urban planning to rural initiatives. The delegation members were also impressed by China’s approach to heritage conservation and tourism promotion, noting its potential as a model for Ethiopia’s own progress. Both parties discussed strategies to efficiently complete projects in Ethiopia with cost-effectiveness and quality.

Bikila further highlighted China’s success story in rea
ching its current level of development through a strategic focus on education and knowledge. For him, it will be a great lesson for Ethiopia’s journey of greatness, which is guided by a homegrown program, the Medemer (synergy) concept.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to collaborate on strategic issues that will benefit both countries and their citizens. The Communist Party of China affirmed its strong commitment to supporting Ethiopia’s growth and the Prosperity Party’s efforts in this regard. Both the Prosperity Party and the Communist Party of China underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration through party-to-party relations, reflecting the stable strategic partnership that characterizes the relationship between Ethiopia and China, Bikila revealed.

As his party adopted ‘pragmatism’ as its official ideological model and is not a party bounded by ideology, the head affirmed PP to consolidate its cooperation with other parties to realize the aspiration of the country. Thus, Bikila reit
erated the party’s commitment to remain engaged in productive partnerships with other parties that align with its national and public goals.
