Addis Ababa: The Ngwenyama (king) of Eswatini, Mswati III, hailed the successful development achievements of the government and the people of Ethiopia in various spheres. His Majesty Mswati III, who is in Ethiopia for the 38th AU Summit, has toured the restored national palace of Ethiopia with President Taye Atseke Selassie today. The two sides also discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation and continental affairs.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the King expressed that Ethiopia has recorded successes in infrastructure, technology, and other areas. “I must say that also, I’ve not been here in Ethiopia for some time. But since I have returned, I have been very much impressed to see the government and the people of this country, how much development they have done. I have seen a lot of great improvement in terms of infrastructure and all other things, technology and so on,” the King stated. He congratulated the people of this country for coming together and working things in this way.
Speaking on the 38th African Union (AU) Summit being held in Addis Ababa, His Majesty Mswati III revealed Ethiopia has hosted successfully and given warmest welcomes to African leaders. “We have been here in Ethiopia to attend the AU summit, which was hosted by the government and the people of this great country, who gave all of us from all over Africa the warmest welcome, the reception of everything which has been put to our disposal,” he said.
According to him, the Summit came up with programs to transform Africa and improve the lives of Africans. Referring to agenda 2063 in conjunction with 2030, which is the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the king said Africa is committed to seeing significant changes. He also stressed the need for unity and cooperation among African leaders, adding that working together can lead to greater successes. “Because if we walk the walk together, the successes are great, but in isolation, the successes can be limited. So we are looking forward to coordinating a lot of things here.”
