Environment Day Celebrated in Tenkodogo with Sanitation Efforts at Bus Station

Tenkodogo: The Governor of the Central-East region led the commemoration of World Environment Day at the Tenkodogo bus station, emphasizing the theme ‘let’s fight against plastic pollution.’ The event included a sanitation session aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Governor, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, addressed the station’s occupants, urging them to maintain cleanliness in their workplaces and homes. The initiative, organized by the Regional Directorate of Environment, Water and Sanitation, featured several activities such as cleaning the bus station, awareness sessions, radio broadcasts, a public conference at the Tenkodogo Polytechnic University Center, and the provision of sanitation equipment to the bus station manager.

The Regional Director of Environment, Water and Sanitation, Ousseni Pamoussa G. Kafando, encouraged the population to adhere to the advice of sanitation experts to ensure healthier living and working environments. He highlighted that such practices contribute to disease prevention and enhance living conditions. Kafando also thanked the regional and municipal authorities, the Belgian Development Agency, and the local communities for their support in celebrating World Environment Day.
