Houet: Elite FC emerged victorious in the opening match of the 8th edition of the U15 Children's Wellness Tournament, securing a 1-0 win against Satellite FC. The match, held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, saw Elite FC of Yegu©r© face off against Satellite FC of Accart Ville. This football event, organized by the Child Welfare Association, kicked off with two 30-minute halves and was decided by a single goal scored by Elite FC in the first period.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament's promoter, Dominique Kouda, emphasized the competition's role in mentoring and identifying young talent. Kouda stated, "It's a way for us to raise awareness, to pass on good habits, as well as the messages of solidarity and cohesion that should exist among children. The goal is to keep them occupied in a healthy way and to offer those who have talent the opportunity to go far, particularly by joining clubs."
The tournament, held under the theme "promoting peace and development through children's sports education," aims to foster youth development through sports while emphasizing peace, solidarity, and social cohesion. A total of 24 teams will compete in this edition on the training ground of Jeunesse Club de Bobo (JCB) in Lafiabougou.
