Elimination Phases of Regional Culture Week Launched in Nahouri by Governor Yvette Nacoulma

Pô, Massalado Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, the governor of the South Center region, initiated the elimination phases of the Regional Culture Week (SRC) competitions on Monday, October 30, 2023, in Pô, within the province of Nahouri. This event marks the beginning of preparations for the National Culture Week (SNC) scheduled to take place in Bobo in 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was honored by the presence of Jacques Sosthène Dingara, the Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers. Ms. Sanon/Koulibaly Christiane Carole, the Director General of the SNC, along with numerous residents and supporters of the region, also attended to lend their support to the participating artists.

During this two-day cultural showcase, more than 492 artists and athletes from the region will present their skills in performing arts, culture, and sports. Their performances will determine who will represent the Center-South region at the SNC in Bobo in 2024.

The Kombissiri “union treaty” orchestra had the honor of inaugurating the event on the first day of the qualifiers. A total of 22 troops took to the stage for performances prior to the official start of the ceremony. Additionally, a moment of silence was held to pay respects to the victims of terrorism.
