Baku: The third edition of Campus Comedy (CamCo), a program dedicated to discovering, training, and professionalizing young Burkinabe comedians, concluded with a spectacular grand finale on August 1, 2026, in Ouagadougou. The event showcased an array of talent and emotions, culminating in comedian Elie le Dur being crowned the standout talent of the 2026 edition.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Elie le Dur triumphed over ten finalists, winning the jury's favor to claim first place. He was followed by Le Benguiste in second place, with Sabane the Cute rounding out the top three. Elie le Dur's exceptional performance earned him a prize of one million CFA francs.

The Campus Comedy program, led by renowned comedian El Pr©sidente, whose real name is Kabor© Abdou Wahabou Harouna, has gained a reputation over the years as a vital incubator for talent. Its mission is to aid in the professionalization of young Burkinabe comedians by identifying emerging talents, providing intensive quality training, and enhancing their artistic, technical, and stage skills.

More than just a competition, CamCo serves as a school of humor, equipping young artists with the skills necessary to transform their passion into a viable career. Following the success of this year's event, the organizers have already extended an invitation to the public and aspiring comedians to participate in the 2027 edition, promising to unveil more gems of Burkinabe humor.
