Katima mulilo: The 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections started on a strong note in Katima Mulilo, with a sizeable turnout observed at most polling stations visited by Nampa since the opening at 07h00 on Wednesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, at the Katima Mulilo open market and at the gates of the Ngweze Community Hall in the Katima Mulilo Urban Constituency on Wednesday, people queued up as early as 06h00. Senior citizen Masiye Bainga was among the first to cast her vote at the open market polling station. Bainga expressed her commitment to exercising her democratic right, stating, "We have democracy in Namibia and I'm merely exercising my democratic right to vote, that's why I came early today. Once I'm done, I will go to the open market where I sell my products."

Katima Mulilo Town Council's former mayors, John Ntemwa and Georgina Mwiya, were spotted at the Ngweze Community Hall to cast their votes. Mwiya, who was the third to cast her vote, encouraged others to participate, emphasizing, "I have the right to vote for my choice and I'm urging all eligible voters to stand up. Don't waste your time, come all and cast your vote, the early bird catches the worm."
