Elections Progressing Well at Outjo Khorixas and Kamanjab Constituencies

Outjo: The Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections are proceeding smoothly without any challenges in the Outjo, Khorixas, and Kamanjab Constituencies in the Kunene Region. Returning Officer for the local authority elections in Outjo Constituency, Elrico Uirab, reported that all polling stations in the constituency have not raised any complaints so far. He noted that Outjo Constituency has 11,000 registered voters and they are expecting voter turnout close to that number.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the presiding officer at the Outjo Police Station, Solomon Mbulu, stated that his team dedicated the morning hours to prison inmates and police officers. They later moved to the public hospital and are now open to the general public. Returning Officer for Khorixas Constituency, Timotheus Aibeb, also confirmed that everything is going well at the nine polling stations in town and with two other mobile teams deployed to rural areas. Aibeb mentioned a case of someone attempting to vote with an old voter's card, which was resolved quickly.

Returning Officer for Kamanjab Constituency, Kizzy Dudu-Murorua, reported that everything is going according to plan in her constituency. She emphasized that elders, pregnant women, and disabled people are being prioritized to vote first. Meanwhile, Daniel Hafeni, the presiding officer at the Legacy Centre in the informal settlement in Outjo, noted that queues are steady at his station. He mentioned that there have been no disruptions, except for voters arriving with voting cards from other constituencies, whom they advise to vote in their own constituency.
