Speaking when receiving the donation, the County Social Protection Director Mr. Meshack Chemwor said the county government will continue working with various partners to ensure children at the Rescue Centre are brought up in a conducive environment.

Chemwor said the donation from Kenknit through the Empty Vessels Foundation will go a long way towards ensuring children at the facility have access to their basic rights.

The Director said currently, the Rescue Centre has over 100 children and another 110 who are under rehabilitation.

‘We appreciate Empty Vessels for their continued support and Governor Mr. Jonathan Bii for the support and environment to attract partners to ensure children enjoy their constitutional right to conducive shelter,’ Chemwor said.

‘We also appreciate Empty Vessels as they continue to bring partners to support the facility with food, clothing, and beddings,’ he added.

Empty Vessels Ambassador Ms. Bianca Wardwell who is based in Florida, United States assured that she will continue supporting the facility for the benefit of the children it shelters.

‘I call this my second home and it’s my hope for each of these children to feel like human beings; to feel loved, wanted, and live healthily,’ she said, adding that she looked forward to coming back over and over to assist the children.
