Teso—More than 20 families in the Osia area in Teso North Sub County are left without shelter after a strong wind caused significant damage, including blowing off the roofs of homes. An elderly woman was killed when a wall in her house collapsed due to the wind.

According to a new release by Kenya News Agency, the situation is severe and requires immediate intervention from humanitarian organizations and the disaster committee. Chief Ekirapa said, “The situation here is bad; we just urge the disaster committee and any humanitarian organizations like the Kenya Red Cross Society to intervene and save the situation before we lose more lives.” Five individuals have been transferred from a local hospital to Kocholia sub-county referral hospital due to severe injuries.
