CAIRO-Egypt and Jordan intensified their diplomatic efforts on Tuesday:gypt and Jordan intensified their diplomatic efforts on Tuesday, urging for an immediate ceasefire in the conflicts involving Gaza and Lebanon, and advocating for a comprehensive political settlement. The call was made during a joint press conference in Cairo, featuring statements from Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi. According to Namibia Press Agency, the two ministers discussed potential solutions to the escalating regional political and security crises, with a particular focus on preventing the area from sliding into a broader regional conflict. Abdelatty highlighted the importance of continued Arab efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and to stop what he described as "brutal Israeli aggression" on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The Egyptian diplomat underscored the complete and absolute rejection of Israeli policies aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave their lands, warning that such actions could lead to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause at the expense of neighboring countries. On his part, Jordanian Foreign Minister Safadi reiterated Jordan's commitment to working alongside Egypt to halt the Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon. He also expressed concerns about the volatile situation in the West Bank, warning of the potential for this tension to escalate into a more dangerous dimension. "The situation is really on the brink of the abyss," Safadi stated, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action. He concluded by asserting that there should be no delays and that Israel must adhere to international laws.
