TUY - The High Commissioner Issiaka Segda initiated a four-day training session on Tuesday for over 500 high school and college teachers in Tuy, focusing on the Competency-Based Approach/Integration Pedagogy (APC/PI). This event, aimed at improving teaching methods, took place at the private evangelical high school La Lumière in Houndé.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training, scheduled from September 24 to 27, 2024, is designed to familiarize educators with the APC/PI for general education and to monitor the application of these methods in technical and vocational training. The opening ceremony featured several regional and provincial educational leaders.

The sessions are part of a broader effort to enhance educational outcomes by implementing the Competency-Based Approach (CBA), which aims to motivate students, reduce academic failure, and improve equity within the educational system by providing tailored support to underperforming students.

Frédéric Armand D'Almeida, the regional director of post-primary and secondary education for Hauts-Bassins, encouraged the educators to fully engage with the training to significantly boost their teaching efficacy for the benefit of their students.
