Educational and Resilience Project Launched in Burkina Faso’s Sourou Province


TOUGAN, SOUROU PROVINCE – On Wednesday, the Sourou Province witnessed the commencement of the Learning and Resilience Improvement Project (PAARE), aimed at enhancing education quality and resilience among school-aged children.



According to Burkina Information Agency, The High Commissioner of Sourou Province, Désiré Badolo, presided over the launch, highlighting the project’s focus on providing equitable access to quality education in safe and inclusive environments. The project, managed by the NGO Terre Des Hommes from March 2024 to February 2026, will directly benefit 3,480 girls and 3,212 boys, alongside 63 women and 53 men. Additionally, it aims to indirectly support 17,634 women and 15,021 men by improving the educational infrastructure and resources in the region. Activities under PAARE include training in child protection during emergencies, leadership development among youth, and enhancements to the school feeding programs. The project will also distribute educational and didactic kits to schools across Sourou. Local authorities, along with customary and religious leaders, have been urged to support the initiative to ensure its success. Désiré Badolo reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to assisting the project,
urging beneficiaries to actively participate in the planned activities.
