Education Stakeholders in Bourasso Review District’s Progress and Challenges

Koosin: School principals in the Bourasso Basic Education District (CEB) met this Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Bourasso, to review the administrative, educational, and socio-cultural activities of the district. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), Malicki Sidibe.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the school directors gathered to evaluate the current state of educational reforms and their implementation within the district. Each principal was asked by Malicki Sidibe to provide an update on the progress and setbacks they have encountered in their respective schools.

During the meeting, the directors shared experiences and highlighted the challenges they face in implementing educational reforms. Notably, Boureima Dembele, the director of Bourasso ‘A’ school, reported a satisfactory outcome from the reforms, indicating some success in adaptation and execution.

Looking ahead, the CCEB emphasized the importance of fostering national pride and cultural identity within the educational framework. The prospects outlined for the district include the regular raising of the national flag, the adoption of traditional attire by both teachers and students, and the learning of the national anthem in the local language. Additionally, there was a call to enhance the curriculum with the teaching of English and New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT), aiming to equip students with skills relevant to the modern world.
