Koudougou: The Minister of National Education, Sosthène Dingara, conducted a field visit to the provinces of Boulkiemdé and Sanguié in the Center-West region on November 7 and 8, 2024. The tour included meetings with key stakeholders in basic education, visits to schools, and discussions aimed at addressing the challenges faced at the start of the school year and aligning with new educational reforms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Dingara commenced his tour by visiting preschools and primary schools to assess teaching and learning conditions. In Koudougou, he visited Sud A and Saint-Augustin schools, where he engaged with educators to discuss the challenges they encounter and explore potential solutions. In Réo, Sanguié, the minister visited the Saint-Bernard school, known for its inclusive education program.
Further school visits included the preschool in sector 2 and the primary school in Banankyo, which provided a comprehensive view of the educational diversity in the region. During d
iscussions, Minister Dingara emphasized the importance of preparing for the administrative and educational back-to-school period, alongside educational supervisors.
The minister highlighted new reforms aimed at rebuilding the state by fostering patriotic citizens dedicated to the nation. He underscored the importance of instilling values of peace, tolerance, and respect for public welfare in children while teaching them local trades to enhance community ownership.
The discussions provided an opportunity to review the progress made and identify areas for improvement. A significant highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Wendpouiré school, constructed with support from the NGO “Soleil dans la main.” This new school infrastructure signifies a commitment to providing students with a conducive learning environment, as noted by Abylaicé Rouamba, the regional director of basic education for the Centre-West.

nt and maintain continuous dialogue among education system stakeholders to address current challenges effectively.
