Ondangwa: Swapo's Leonard Negonga has retained his position as councillor of the Ondangwa Urban Constituency.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the announcement was made by the Electoral Commission of Namibia on Friday. Negonga garnered 3,911 votes in the just concluded Regional Councils and Localities Authorities Elections.

Abraham Kaushweni from Swapo scored 2,438 votes in the Ondangwa Rural Constituency. The party's Onayena constituency candidate, Kamati Nelumbu, scored 3,313 votes, marking the party's victory.

In the Guinas Constituency, Khumub Moses garnered 1,672 votes. The results were announced Friday evening by ECN Chairperson Elsie Nghikembua. The Electoral Officer of Oshikoto, Ester Hipangelwa, told Nampa Friday evening that the verification process is ongoing, with more results set to be announced.
