To©c©: Catholic faithful in To©c© celebrated Easter on Sunday, April 5, 2026, marking the resurrection of Christ. On this occasion, the faithful were urged to demonstrate faith and to abandon the harmful practices that undermine the Church, the family of God.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Eucharistic celebration of the Easter feast marking the resurrection of Christ was presided over by Father Etienne Ganga, Parish Priest of the parish of Sainte Maria Gorreti in To©c©. During his homily, he reminded the faithful that the Easter festival symbolizes Christ's victory over death and is one of the first foundations of the Christian faith, reassuring Christians that everything is possible with Jesus Christ, son of God.
He then invited Christians to base themselves on faith and to relinquish the bad practices that distance them from God. Father €š¬°tienne emphasized that, according to the Christian faith, after Christ is resurrected from the dead, every believer will see him in Galilee, as specified in the holy scriptures.
The Catholic faithful of the parish joyfully acclaimed and praised the Lord who conquered death, with songs of joy. Representatives of the Muslim community and traditional leadership were present to support their Catholic Christian brothers. During the celebration, about a hundred adult and child worshippers received the sacrament of baptism.
At the end of the mass, thanks were expressed to the local authorities, the Defense and security forces, and representatives of other religious faiths. Before receiving the final blessing from the priest, the Catholic faithful prayed for peace in Burkina Faso.
