DRESRI-COS Celebrates Workers’ Month with Cohesion and Cultural Discovery

Ouagadougou: The Regional Directorate of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of the Center-West (DRESRI-COS) closed the Month of the Worker 2025 in style this weekend, marking the occasion with a series of activities designed to strengthen team cohesion and promote local heritage. Driven by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI)’s activity program, May was a month rich in events for staff.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the festivities were structured around three highlights: a sanitation day, a tourist excursion, and a recreational day. The health day, which brought together all DRESRI-COS employees and those from the Regional Human Rights Directorate, with whom they share premises, was an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of collaboration and solidarity between the two entities. The initiative was praised for its impact on the work environment and inter-departmental relations.

On May 28, 2025, the region’s tourist heritage was in the spotlight. Staff members, accompanied by the regional director and the regional representative of the Higher Council of Communication (CSC) of the Center-West, took an enriching excursion to the Issouka Royal Palace. The program included visits to the Rayimi Museum, Naaba Boulgo Square, and Maasme Palace. This immersion allowed the agents to learn about the history of the Issouka district, the organization of its traditional chiefdom, and the richness of its art objects, thus contributing to the promotion of local culture.

Finally, the atmosphere relaxed during the recreational day. The regional headquarters courtyard was transformed into a friendly space where sports and board games punctuated the day. P©tanque particularly brought participants together, offering moments of friendly competition and laughter. The day concluded with a community meal, fostering closer ties between agents and the discovery of unsuspected talents in a friendly atmosphere.

At the end of these activities, the Regional Director, Dr. Jonas Koala, expressed his deep gratitude to the staff for their active participation. He emphasized the importance of these celebrations, desired by the ministry authorities, to stimulate motivation, commitment, and fraternity, essential pillars of service performance. Dr. Koala expressed the hope that the spirit of solidarity and commitment instilled during these days will continue, thus contributing to the successful achievement of the year’s objectives. He also thanked the agents of the sister regional directorate for their invaluable contribution to the success of the various activities.
