Ouagadougou — A substantial number of terrorists were neutralized following an assault on a stronghold in Yamba, located in the Gourma province of the Eastern region, as reported late Thursday by the AIB.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Combatant Forces have conducted several offensives throughout the territory in the last few hours. Notably, a swift and decisive operation took place in the commune of Yamba, executed by the Security and Defense Forces (FDS) in conjunction with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

The preliminary tally from the operation includes numerous terrorists killed, the obliteration of a base, and the confiscation of equipment. On national road No. 3, aerial units took terrorists by surprise as they attempted to mount assaults on passing convoys. These threats were promptly identified and neutralized.

Military efforts persist with the objective of compelling terrorist factions to surrender or face fatal consequences.
