Dori: The mission officer at the presidency of Faso, Ali Bokoum, handed over on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, to the regional directorate of the national police of the Sahel, food and the sum of 1,000,000 FCFA as a sign of support and recognition for the reconquest and security efforts carried out by the Combatant Forces in the Sahel region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation consists of 1.5 tons of rice, 15 boxes of soap, 10 boxes of pasta and 3 cans of oil. In addition to these foodstuffs, he also handed over the sum of 1,000,000 FCFA. “This donation is a demonstration of recognition and solidarity towards the defense and security forces operating in the Sahel region,” declared Mr. Ali Bokoum, mission officer at the presidency of Faso.
Mr. Bokoum emphasized the important work being done by the FDS in the defense and reconquest of the national territory, stressing the need for the population to show recognition and encouragement. He urged the entire community in the region to respond to th
e call of the country’s highest authorities by participating in the peace effort. “Victory over terrorism is only possible with the support and active participation of all the daughters and sons of the Sahel region in the work of national reconquest,” Mr. Bokoum said.
On behalf of the regional director of the national police, the chief police commissioner, Mr. Bassoumaila Traoré, expressed gratitude to the donor and assured that the donation would be used wisely. Mr. Traoré expressed the hope that Mr. Ali Bokoum’s gesture would inspire others in the community. “The FDS expects understanding and collaboration from the populations of the Sahel region,” he concluded.
The Secretary General of the Sahel region, Mr. Abdoul Karim Zongo, echoed this sentiment by urging all regional forces to follow the example of the mission officer at the presidency of Faso, Mr. Ali Bokoum.
