‘D?M? SIRA’ Campaign: Nakamb© Leads with Over 160 Million FCFA Raised

Ouagadougou: The Nakamb© Region distinguished itself at the closing of the first edition of the national solidarity campaign 'D?m? Sira', ranking first in terms of contribution with more than 160 million FCFA mobilized. A performance that was applauded on the night of Friday, February 13, 2026, in Ouagadougou, during the National Solidarity Gala.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign, launched on November 14, 2025, by the Ministry of Solidarity under the leadership of Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend© P©lagie Kabor©, garnered strong public support throughout the country. Held under the patronage of Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, represented at the ceremony by the President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, Dr. Ousmane Bougma, the initiative mobilized administrative authorities, government members, technical and financial partners, and civil society actors.

For several months, awareness caravans, community meetings, and citizen initiatives reached more than 14 million Burkinabe. In a context marked by security and humanitarian challenges, the campaign helped to revive indigenous values of mutual aid and strengthen social cohesion.

Financially, "D?m? Sira" has recorded 970 million FCFA in direct contributions and electronic donations, in addition to significant collections of food, clothing, and various supplies for internally displaced persons and vulnerable groups. The stated objective remains to mobilize two billion FCFA to strengthen social assistance nationwide.

With over 160 million FCFA raised, the Nakamb© Region has risen to first place in the national rankings. This achievement reflects a structured collective commitment involving regional authorities, key stakeholders, and the local population. A highlight of the evening was the President of Burkina Faso's special prize, worth five million FCFA, presented by Captain Ibrahim Traor©, which recognized the best community initiative. It was awarded to the SOS SOUROU SCHOOL association, with an average score of 15.33, for its one-hectare ecological garden project benefiting 257 internally displaced women.

This initiative combines solidarity, economic empowerment, and community resilience. In recognition of its success, the Nakamb© Region will host the second edition of the "D?m? Sira" campaign, thus confirming the authorities' commitment to sustaining this momentum.

Beyond the figures, the Nakamb© distinction recognizes the momentum of a territory that makes solidarity a lever for development. In a demanding national context, the region's example sends a strong signal: that of a people resolutely committed to mutual aid, dignity, and shared responsibility in service of a more united Burkina Faso.
