Poni: The Dj´r´ Regional Union of Rice Producers demonstrated support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) with a substantial food donation. The contribution, valued at over 700,000 FCFA, included rice, oil, and salt, and was presented in a ceremony at the Gaoua governorate.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the regional union, Mr. Mahamadi Sawadogo, stated that this action was in response to a call from the President of Faso, aimed at mobilizing the nation’s resources to support the FDS and VDP in their efforts to secure the territory. He expressed gratitude to these forces, acknowledging their role in enabling the resumption of agricultural activities in previously insecure areas.
Governor Siaka Barro praised the initiative, expressing gratitude on behalf of the country’s authorities. He encouraged other organizations to emulate this act of solidarity, emphasizing that overcoming insecurity requires collective effort.
Police Lieutenant Bat, representing the beneficiary forces, thanked the donors for their support and wished them a successful agricultural season. He expressed honor in seeing the work of the FDS and VDP appreciated by the community.
