Djibo Community Marches in Solidarity with Transition Government, Calls for Increased Security

DJIBO — On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the residents of Djibo took to the streets in a peaceful march to support the transitional government and demand greater security measures for the province of Soum.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the march was a demonstration of the community’s strong backing for Comrade President Ibrahim Traoré and the transitional bodies. The participants also voiced a pressing need for enhanced security measures in Djibo, following a recent terrorist attack on July 17, 2024, that caused substantial damage but fortunately no fatalities.

The marchers expressed hope that the recent attack would not be exploited for personal gain by those with malicious intent. The event concluded with chants of ‘Long live Burkina Faso’, ‘Long live Captain Ibrahim Traoré’, and ‘Homeland or death, we will win’, signifying a resilient spirit among the participants.
