Dissihn: Basic Education Stakeholders Seek Better Performance for 8,980 Learners

Dissihn: The Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Dissihn, Soninuor Meda, assisted by educational supervisors, presided over a meeting with school principals and teachers of the CM2 classes, aiming to identify strategies to improve the academic performance of the 8,980 learners in the district. This consultation comes at a crucial time in the school year, just weeks before the end-of-year exams.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Soninuor Meda, the head of the Dissihn Basic Education District (CEB), stated that the meeting had two main objectives: to define new strategies for better management of the third term and to create the conditions for a calm preparation of candidates for the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam. The discussions focused on analyzing the staffing situation, presenting the results recorded by class and by school, and outlining the educational approaches to be implemented to correct the shortcomings identified.

The performance review reveals three distinct levels of development for the schools in the CEB of Dissihn. First, there is a center of excellence encompassing the majority of schools; second, a zone of vulnerability; and finally, a critical alert zone. Following this analysis, the CCEB stressed the need for each stakeholder to redouble their commitment in order to keep learners in school, improve performance in fragile and critical alert areas, and intensify remediation sessions for educational recovery in CM2 classes.

For school principals and teachers of the final year of primary school (CM2), this initiative is timely. They believe it will give new impetus to teaching teams in preparation for the end-of-year exams. Participants pledged to meet the challenges of continuously improving academic results in the Dissihn CEB (Basic Education Center).
