Ouagadougou: The Director General of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) recently met with the Burkinabe Minister of Foreign Affairs during a visit to Burkina Faso. The meeting, held on the evening of January 26, served as an opportunity to discuss DCAF's ongoing and future interventions in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this visit marked the Director General's first trip to Burkina Faso, where she emphasized DCAF's dedication to enhancing its partnerships with the nation, particularly with the entities responsible for ensuring the security of its citizens. The field visit allowed her to engage directly with local security personnel and witness the effective collaboration between security actors and the community.

Ms. Nathalie Chuard, the Director General, expressed her optimism about the outcomes observed during her visit, which reinforced DCAF's commitment to deepen its involvement in Burkina Faso. The Burkinabe Minister of Foreign Affairs echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude for the visit, which provided the Director General with a comprehensive understanding of the country's security landscape.

The Minister appreciated DCAF's approach, which encourages both local security organizations and community members to engage in a "co-production" of security efforts. This collaborative model aims to foster unity and shared responsibility in maintaining public safety.

It works to develop, promote, and recommend best practices and standards for effective security sector governance.
