Luanda: The Angolan ambassador to Spain, Balbina Malheiros Dias da Silva, pledged on Tuesday, February 11, to enhance cooperation between Angola and Spain across economic, commercial, political, and social domains. Her commitment was made clear during a press briefing following her swearing-in ceremony, where she highlighted Spain's significance as the 5th largest economy in Europe and the 14th worldwide, particularly noting its strengths in agriculture and tourism.
According to Angola Press News Agency, four newly appointed ambassadors were sworn in by the Angolan Head of State, Joo Louren§o, at the Presidential Palace. Among them, Baltazar Diogo Cristovo, the new ambassador to Zimbabwe, emphasized the intention to strengthen ties in agriculture, taking into account Zimbabwe's potential in this sector. "We will cooperate to mutually improve economic diplomacy, one of the main focuses of our mission," Cristovo stated.
Alfredo Dombe, the Head of Angola's diplomatic mission in Rwanda, also underscored the importance of bolstering cooperation and attracting Rwandan investors to Angola, with a particular focus on the tourism sector. He believes that Rwandan businesspeople could play a significant role in Angola's ongoing projects.
Meanwhile, Jos© Filipe, appointed to the Kingdom of Morocco, expressed his mission's challenge to expand cooperation at all levels between Angola and Morocco, with a strong emphasis on economic diplomacy.
