Diplomat Yedong Zhao to Strengthen China-Burkina Faso Relations

Ouagadougou: The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Burkina Faso, His Excellency Mr. Yedong Zhao, presented his credentials this Friday morning to His Excellency Mr. President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore. The Chinese Ambassador, residing in Ouagadougou, is a seasoned diplomat who joined the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991 and has held significant positions within the ministry and at Chinese diplomatic missions. Ambassador Yedong Zhao aims to enhance the cooperative relations between Ouagadougou and Beijing.

According to Burkina Information Agency, since the resumption of diplomatic relations on May 25, 2018, several cooperation agreements covering multiple sectors have been signed, and numerous visits by dignitaries have taken place. High-level meetings between the two countries have led to a visa exemption for holders of official passports, the construction of the Pala University Hospital Center in Bobo-Dioulasso, and the rehabilitation of other infrastructure to benefit the Burkinabe people.
